I know Bucket Lists are traditionally lifetime things to do before you “kick the bucket,” but why not make a shorter bucket list just for this year? Since it’s going to be 2014, I’ve listed 14 things I want to achieve before the (new) year’s end. I drew the above image myself in Sketchbook Express, a free drawing app for Mac, and I’ve highlighted what’s important to me.
Here they are, listed from most to least important:
- Write a Novel
- Maintain This Blog All Year (BooksandBark.Org Challenge; see below)
- Publish Something
Get 50 Blog Followers
- Advocate for Shelters and Learn How to Prepare Doggie Medication
- Pit Bull Advocacy
- Be Good to My Dog
- Play Clarinet (more often)
- Learn CSS Coding
- Be Friendlier (I know this should really be at the top)
Help Out Animals (this is only so low on my list because I already volunteer with animals)
- Edit My Novel
- Create My Own Font
- Learn How to Act
Like I Care About Fashion and ShoppingNormal
Each time I achieve something, I plan to write a blog post about it. The item will be crossed out and linked to where you can read about that. I’m so excited about the year ahead, but sad to see 2013 go.
The BooksandBark.Org Challenge
One of my long-term goals is to keep writing on this blog. So I’ve set myself a challenge. Basically, if I keep blogging for a year, come January 1st, 2015, I will buy a domain name for Books and Bark. That means the “.wordpress.com” in the URL will be cancelled out. The blog’s address will just be “booksandbark.com” or “booksandbark.org,” or something like that. And that’ll be something to be proud of.
